Chloe is a feminine name from a friend which was borrowed by Gaby, who felt her own name sounded as though it belonged to a fortune-teller, as she thought of its warm and roundness.
Gaby Aghion, an Egyptian-born Parisienne, founded Chloe in 1952 with his partner Jacques Lenoir. Being a French luxury fashion design house headquartered in Paris, France, the house produces accessories, fragrances and women's RTW (ready-to-wear).
Later in 1990's, Stella McCartney, daughter of ex-Beatle Paul McCartney, reinvented Chloe once more. With her figure-loving designs she sets trends which helped increase a French house Chloe's revenues by a speculated amount of 500%.

On March 10th, 2008, Hannah MacGibbon, former Assistant Director to Valentino, was appointed as the new Creative Director at Chloe
